1- Aplicar calor

Usar calor para lograr un brushing perfecto es un clásico, sin embargo, es uno de los mayores enemigos de una melena sana. douglas tiene una solución práctica: “Bajar la temperatura de las herramientas que se usan en el pelo y secar el cabello con aire frío son dos maneras fáciles y efectivas de minimizar el daño en los folículos capilares”. El especialista advierte que el agua de la ducha también puede perjudicar el cabello si está muy caliente.

2- Lavar el pelo todos los días

Es uno de los hábitos más dañinos, frecuentes y difíciles de cambiar. El estilista recomienda lavar el cabello dos veces a la semana y da un tip para dejar el lavado diario de forma gradual: “si lavas tu pelo todos los días, usa shampoo seco para desacostumbrar al cabello hasta llegar a dos lavados semanales.” douglas señala que esto ayuda a prevenir que el cuero cabelludo se seque y a devolverle al pelo sus aceites naturales, para que luzca sedoso.

3- No cortar el cabello

A menudo las mujeres dejamos crecer el cabello y por varios meses no asistamos a una peluquería, lo que hace que las puntas se abran y el pelo pierda vitalidad, sobre todo en ciudades con mucha contaminación. “Muchos de mis clientes no quieren perder el largo, así que yo les sugiero la técnica del ‘dusting’ que consiste en quitar el exceso sobrante en la zona de las puntas que se afinan”. Una melena larga y sana no es imposible.

4- Cepillar el cabello húmedo

Lavar el pelo y peinarlo es bastante habitual, pero no es una buena idea. El estilista asegura que nunca hay que peinar el cabello húmedo, porque es cuando se encuentra más débil y propenso a quebrarse. Esperar cinco minutos hasta que se haya secado un poco es fundamental.

5- Llevar una mala alimentación

Dicen que somos lo que comemos. Cierto o no, douglas asegura que así como una dieta saludable impacta en el cuerpo, también lo hace en el cabello: “Es hora de dejar de comer comida procesada y azúcar refinada si quieres alcanzar tu meta de tener un pelo brilloso. Comer más avena, espinaca y grasas saludables hará una gran diferencia en tu melena, ya que la silica, biotina, zinc y todas las vitaminas que contienen estos alimentos contribuyen a tener un pelo fuerte y sano”.
